SHIN SHIRATAKE Takayama Chasen Matcha Whisk teaware "pan-fired" heritage of Japanese teaSHIN Takayama Chasen (), is a traditional Japanese bamboo whisk designed especially for preparing usucha (thin matcha) with a silky, airy foam. Unlike most chasen in the market today which are mass produced by machine outside of Japan, this matcha whisk is handmade in Takayama, Nara Prefecture the birthplace of chasen making with a long history dating back to the 1500s. Each whisk is carved from a single piece of Japanese bamboo, with 80 finely split
