It is made from solid mahogany and has a tilting top for easy storage and locks firmly into the down position with a couple of smooth latches. The table does have some minor age appropriate finish loss and scratching on the surface. It is 18. 5" wide and 29" high to the flat surface. So there are no surprises for you at checkout, we build our shipping cost into our product
